Public Information Intern – General Support

About the role

The Public Information Intern will support the Public Information Office in Amman by creating and managing content for UNRWA Jordan’s communication channels, assisting with event coverage, and providing general administrative help.

Key responsibilities

• Support editing and scheduling of content for UNRWA Jordan’s social media platforms (Facebook, X/Twitter).
• Create simple visuals, graphics and posters using Canva or similar tools.
• Assist with basic photo and video editing for digital use.
• Cover photographs and short videos during UNRWA activities, events and field visits.
• Research background information and draft short‑form content, captions and internal updates under guidance.
• Maintain digital content files, media assets and provide general administrative support to the PIO team.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recently graduated (within 2 years) from a university programme in Communications, Media, Journalism, International Relations, Public Relations, Marketing or related field.
• Good written and spoken English; working knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
• Interest in humanitarian, development or UN‑related work.

Required skills

• Canva (or similar graphic design tool).
• Basic photo and video editing.
• Microsoft Office suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, X/Twitter).
