Purchasing Manager

About the role

The Purchasing Manager will lead the Materials Department and oversee all procurement activities for Grand Hyatt Amman. This role ensures efficient sourcing, purchasing, and delivery of goods and services needed for hotel operations while supporting financial and operational objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage purchasing, receiving, inventory control, and storage to keep hotel operations running smoothly.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and contract terms.
• Conduct market research and obtain competitive quotations to secure quality products at cost‑effective prices.
• Monitor departmental budgets, control procurement costs, and identify savings opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with Hyatt policies, internal controls, and purchasing procedures.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels and enforce proper stock management to minimize waste.
• Collaborate with department heads to understand needs and ensure timely procurement.
• Analyze purchasing trends and advise management on cost control, supplier performance, and procurement strategies.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in hospitality.
• Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation abilities.
• Good analytical, budgeting, and problem‑solving skills.
• Understanding of procurement processes, inventory management, and hotel operations.
• Legal work authorization for Jordan (Jordanian ID).
