Quality Engineer (Automation & Coding)

About the role

We are looking for a Quality Engineer who writes real code to automate testing across the full stack. You will join a distributed, hands‑on team that values open debate, rapid iteration, and ownership of quality for a platform used by researchers and publishers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites in JavaScript/TypeScript covering end‑to‑end browser flows, APIs, and integration points.
• Implement reusable test frameworks, utilities, and helpers rather than throwaway scripts.
• Perform white‑box testing by reading source code and targeting high‑risk areas.
• Write and debug SQL queries to validate data and reproduce issues directly in PostgreSQL.
• Automate browser interactions with Selenium and keep the test suite fast and reliable.
• Integrate tests into CI pipelines so quality checks run on every change.
• Partner with engineers during design and code reviews to identify testability gaps early.
• Investigate failures, isolate root causes, and produce clear, reproducible bug reports.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience building automated tests for web applications.
• Strong JavaScript and TypeScript coding skills.
• Hands‑on experience with Selenium for browser automation.
• Solid understanding of React and Node.js enough to test them from the inside.
• Comfortable writing SQL for PostgreSQL validation and debugging.
• White‑box testing mindset and strong problem‑solving instincts.
• Clear communicator who works well in a distributed team.
