Route-Based Approach Consultant – Child Protection

About the role

The Route-Based Approach (RBA) Consultant will support UNICEF’s Migration and Displacement Hub in delivering a cross‑border protection programme for migrant children, families and host communities. Working remotely while based in Amman, the consultant will coordinate with UNICEF headquarters, regional and country offices, as well as key partners such as IOM and Save the Children.

Key responsibilities

• Provide coordination support for the RBA programme, ensuring alignment among UNICEF units and external partners.
• Prepare regular progress reports, data analyses and policy briefs for global and regional audiences.
• Document lessons learned and best practices to inform future migration‑related interventions.
• Contribute to UNICEF’s participation in global and regional policy discussions on migration and child protection.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in Migration, Refugee Studies, Political Science, Economics, Development Studies or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in migration and displacement programme coordination.
• Experience working with complex UN/multilateral partnerships and policy analysis.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in French or Arabic is an asset.
