RPA Avionics Technician I – Deployment Pool

About the role

The employee will join the Deployment Pool and support deployments to various CONUS and OCONUS locations as needed. The role requires flexibility in work schedules and involves performing and inspecting organizational and intermediate level electronic maintenance and modifications on RPA systems and related support equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Apply basic technical knowledge to solve complex operational and maintenance problems.
• Maintain, repair, and install a variety of electronic equipment and devices.
• Interpret Air Force technical orders, manufacturers’ manuals, and other technical publications.
• Use common and complex test instruments to diagnose and correct malfunctions.
• Support ground support and auxiliary equipment inspections and operations.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent military/vocational technical training.
• Minimum one year of aircraft avionics or GCS maintenance experience.
• Basic knowledge of electronics maintenance, RFF systems, and related components.
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and data tables.
• Eligibility to obtain an IAT Level II certification (e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, Security+ CE, SSCP, GSEC) within 90 days of hire.
• Willingness and ability to meet OCONUS deployment criteria and deploy to forward locations.

Required skills

• Use of test instruments for electronic troubleshooting.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of RFF systems and components.
• Familiarity with certifications such as CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, Security+ CE, SSCP, GSEC.
