Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join Mada’s Finance team in Amman. The role will own core accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations and controls, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance across the company’s BNPL fintech business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations, journal entries and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare bank and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing and reporting.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, Jordanian tax regulations and other statutory requirements.
• Coordinate internal and external audits.
• Maintain and strengthen financial controls and accounting procedures.
• Identify and implement improvements to finance processes and systems.
• Provide financial analysis and ad‑hoc support to Finance leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 4+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a senior role.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger, reconciliations, financial reporting and month‑end closing.
• Good understanding of IFRS and Jordanian tax regulations.
• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel.
• Analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Experience in fintech, financial services, payments or technology is a plus.
• Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, ACCA is an advantage.
