Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

Viero is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale the core services of its fleet‑management operating system. You will work closely with product, front‑end, and DevOps teams to deliver high‑performance, reliable APIs that power logistics, financial, and AI‑driven features for a range of industries.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and NestJS.
• Architect and optimise relational database schemas in PostgreSQL, including migrations and query performance.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code following engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with front‑end developers, product managers, and DevOps to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior and mid‑level engineers.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise application performance.
• Contribute to system architecture decisions and technical roadmaps.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency with Node.js and NestJS (or comparable frameworks).
• Solid experience designing and optimising PostgreSQL schemas.
• Good understanding of RESTful API design, software architecture, design patterns, and scalability principles.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
