Senior Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer

About the role

The Senior Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of HSE policies, procedures and programs across the organization. This position ensures regulatory compliance, mentors junior staff and promotes a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute annual medical examination programs for employees.
• Develop, review and update HSE policies in line with local and international regulations.
• Design and deliver first‑aid and safety training, coaching junior HSE officers.
• Conduct workplace inspections, safety audits and manage corrective action plans.
• Oversee fire protection and alarm system testing, maintenance and vendor compliance.
• Ensure occupational health and safety requirements are met across all work environments.
• Manage budget for emergency response equipment, firefighting systems and safety devices.
• Chair the HSE Committee, report outcomes to senior management.
• Lead incident investigations, perform root‑cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
• Represent the company before regulatory authorities and support external audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science or related field.
• Minimum 4 years progressive HSE experience, including project leadership or mentoring.
• Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and standards (OSHA, ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
• Professional HSE certification preferred (NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent).
• Excellent leadership, communication, reporting and organizational abilities.
