Senior Network Engineer / Area Manager

About the role

The Senior Network Engineer / Area Manager will lead the design, deployment and maintenance of complex LAN/WAN infrastructures for a mission‑critical environment. The role requires deep expertise in Cisco networking, advanced routing protocols and secure VPN technologies, supporting both commercial and classified networks.

Key responsibilities

• Design, install and maintain Cisco routers, multilayer switches, firewalls and related hardware.
• Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols including RIP, EIGRP, BGP and OSPF.
• Implement MPLS, VPLS, DMVPN, NHRP, IPsec and EzVPN solutions for secure communications.
• Manage wireless networks, Riverbed optimization and Call Manager Express services.
• Provide technical support for network outages and ensure timely project updates.
• Travel OCONUS (30%+) to support mission‑critical sites.

Required profile

• Active US Secret clearance.
• US citizenship.
• DoD 8140 qualification for Network Operations Specialist (441) at Intermediate level.
• Ability to travel internationally for mission support.

Required skills

• Cisco routing and switching (routers, multilayer switches, firewalls).
• Routing protocols: RIP, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF.
• MPLS, VPLS, VPN technologies (DMVPN, NHRP, IPsec, EzVPN).
• Network security and management (AAA, QoS, HSRP, VRRP, GLBP, Syslog, EEM).
• Wireless, Riverbed, Call Manager Express.
• LAN/WAN design, installation and maintenance.
• Experience with military networks (SIPR, NIPR, CENTRIXS, BICES, CPOF, CENTCOM Partner Networks).
