Senior SATCOM Engineer

About the role

The Senior SATCOM Engineer will design, install, maintain and support satellite communications and IP network infrastructures for a high‑security environment. The role provides Tier 2/3 technical support for complex enterprise WAN, LAN and RF systems while ensuring compliance with security and operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, install and maintain LAN, WAN and VoIP infrastructures.
• Provide Tier 2/3 support for enterprise network and advanced RF systems.
• Operate and maintain satellite equipment including modems, redundancy switches, converters, HPAs, LNAs, LNBs, waveguide, IF cables, antennas, SSPA, ACU, HVAC, UPS and generators.
• Utilize Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment beyond Built‑In‑Test capabilities for troubleshooting.
• Manage telecommunications inventory and documentation.
• Program and operate iDirect, Linkway modems/hubs, FDMA and TDMA modems.
• Monitor service requests, enforce SLAs and support best‑practice network management (configuration, monitoring, patching, security).

Required profile

• Active US Government Secret clearance (interim acceptable) and US citizenship.
• DoD 8140 qualification for Work Role 441 – Network Operations Specialist (Intermediate).
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering or equivalent military training.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
• Relevant DoD‑approved certifications (e.g., Security+, Cloud+, GCIH, SSCP, GSEC, CEH, GICSP).
