Trainee Accountant

About the role

The Trainee Accountant will join Chalhoub Group’s finance team to support day‑to‑day accounting operations across multiple functions. Working under supervision, the role offers hands‑on experience in accounts payable, receivable, treasury, and intercompany processes while contributing to month‑end closing and audit activities.

Key responsibilities

• Verify supplier documentation, prepare reconciliations and manage payments, pre‑payments and insurance claims.
• Process employee travel and expense reports, corporate card transactions and coordinate with payroll and HR.
• Reconcile cash and credit‑card collections, review invoices, credit notes and deposits, and support bank reconciliations.
• Raise and reconcile invoices, credit and debit notes, follow up on collections and produce aging reports.
• Handle intercompany invoices, reconciliations, payments and assist with related reporting and audits.
• Process treasury payments, maintain cash position and support bank reconciliation activities.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and prepare ad‑hoc financial reports as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established accounting policies and procedures.
• Good analytical skills and willingness to seek guidance on complex issues.
• Effective communication skills for coordination with internal teams and external suppliers.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems for accounting processes.
