Carpenter – Hotel Maintenance Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our hotel’s maintenance team in Amman. The role involves responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting a wide range of engineering tasks across the property.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and resolve maintenance issues with minimal supervision.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, equipment, and hotel systems, including cleaning, lubrication, and visual inspections.
• Identify, locate, and operate shut‑off valves for equipment and building systems.
• Maintain inventory, requisition parts and supplies, and communicate daily activities to subsequent shifts.
• Carry out basic repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic controls, kitchen equipment, and other guestroom items.
• Assist with surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and ensure thorough cleanup after work.
• Apply Lockout/Tagout procedures before any maintenance activity.
• Use engineering computer programs for preventive maintenance, energy management, and MEP troubleshooting.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and perform Engineer‑on‑Duty duties as required.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with guests and team members.
• Solid knowledge of safe use of hand and power tools.
• Basic ability to repair or replace PVC and copper piping, including soldering.
• Experience with mid‑level troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
• Willingness to follow safety, security, and company policies.
