Senior Project Associate – Shelter (Gaza Response)

About the role

The Senior Project Associate – Shelter will support the shelter team in the Gaza occupied Palestinian territory, coordinating administrative, technical and operational functions to ensure smooth shelter activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head of Operations and Technical Advisor Shelter/NFI in managing shelter projects, including infrastructure rehabilitation and emergency NFI distributions.
• Liaise with units within the Gaza OPT, the Country Office and regional partners, and participate in the UN Shelter Cluster mechanism.
• Supervise and train national staff or field engineering teams, and manage procurement workflows and partner contracts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Project Management or related field with at least four years of relevant experience, or high school diploma with six years of experience.
• Progressive operational experience in humanitarian shelter implementation, infrastructure rehabilitation, or emergency NFI distribution.
• Demonstrated field experience managing and training national staff, and liaising with external stakeholders and local authorities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in engineering/design software such as AutoCAD.
• Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent time‑management, attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
