Casual Commis II – Food & Beverage

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Casual Commis II to join our Food & Beverage team at a Westin hotel in Aqaba. The role supports the kitchen by preparing ingredients, cooking simple dishes and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients – portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix.
• Cook foods according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely.
• Monitor food quality, test doneness and ensure correct temperatures.
• Set‑up and break‑down work stations, serve portions and maintain proper receptacles.
• Clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools, knives and equipment.
• Follow company safety, security and hygiene policies; report incidents.
• Maintain professional appearance and uphold confidentiality of proprietary information.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related kitchen or food‑service experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods and lift up to 25 lb.

• Food preparation and portion control.
• Operation of kitchen equipment (ovens, grills, fryers, microwaves).
• Food safety and temperature monitoring.
• Cleaning and sanitation of kitchen environments.
