Hotel Steward

About the role

An Accor hotel is looking for a Steward to support its kitchen team with dishwashing and cleaning. The role combines professional, proactive guest service with keeping the kitchen hygienic and safe, and involves operating industrial dishwashers and kitchen cleaning equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting colleagues
• Operate an industrial dishwasher and wash all hotel dishes, including chinaware, glassware and flatware
• Keep all surfaces clean and sanitized, and keep floors and work areas free of hazards and obstructions
• Ensure the kitchen has the dishes and silverware needed and guests receive clean dishes
• Check washing equipment is in good working order and report problems to the supervisor
• Sort, stack and store cleaned items safely; remove broken or chipped items and inventory them
• Maintain a hygienic environment according to health department regulations, brand and departmental standards
• Follow department policies, procedures and service standards, and assist with other duties when team members are absent

Required profile

• Previous experience not required
• Ability to work consistently on night shifts
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to stay calm and courteous while focusing on guest needs
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team
