Recreation Supervisor

About the role

JW Marriott is hiring a Recreation Supervisor in Amman, Jordan, to run its recreation centre. The position is full time and non-management, and involves creating activity programmes, managing supplies and guest participation, and supporting staff development.

Key responsibilities

• Create recreational activity agendas and advertisements using publishing software.
• Take inventory of supplies, materials and equipment and report low stock to the manager.
• Encourage, recruit, register and schedule guests for activities, promote a fun and relaxing atmosphere and explain available facilities.
• Promote the rules and regulations of the facility for guest safety and welfare, and respond to emergencies according to local operating procedures.
• Identify guests who cannot safely take part in an activity and help injured guests until emergency services arrive.
• Clean and maintain recreational equipment and supplies.
• Assist management in training, motivating and coaching employees and act as a role model.
• Report accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions, complete safety training and certifications, and follow company policies and confidentiality requirements.
• Anticipate guest needs, assist people with disabilities, process customer orders and payments, and improve quality standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related work experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• CPR certification and First Aid certification.
• Any certification or training required by local and state agencies.

Required skills

• Use of publishing software and computer/point-of-sale systems.
• Ability to read small print and visually inspect tools and equipment.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift and move objects, and work in varied environments.
