Principal Engineer - Wet Utilities

About the role

Egis, an international engineering, consulting and construction firm operating in 100 countries, is hiring a Principal Engineer in Wet Utilities within its Infrastructure practice. The role leads high-profile projects, ensures technical excellence, maintains strong client relationships, provides strategic direction, mentors junior engineers and drives the delivery of complex infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of wet utilities for various projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships and act as the primary point of contact for major projects.
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
• Prepare and review detailed technical specifications, drawings and documentation.
• Manage project budgets, resources and schedules, and report regularly on project status, technical performance and team development to senior management.
• Prepare reports, calculations and design documentation.
• Design using Civil 3D software for the BIM environment.
• Assist in managing infrastructure projects, supporting senior engineers and project leaders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field; Master's degree preferred.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in wet utilities, with a proven track record of leading complex projects.
• Extensive experience designing potable water, sewer, storm, irrigation, district cooling and firefighting systems.
• In-depth knowledge of industry standards, codes and regulations.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and commitment to continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of EPANET, WaterCAD, InfoWorks, SewerCAD, StormCAD and SWMM.
• Familiarity with ArcGIS, MicroStation, MicroDrainage and HAMMER is a plus.
