Program Manager

About the role

The Open Society Foundations is seeking a Program Manager to lead its MENA programmes from Amman. The role focuses on designing, implementing and exiting grant‑making initiatives that advance open societies and democratic values across the Middle East and North Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily liaison with grantees and partners to ensure workplans are designed, launched, implemented and closed in line with defined outcomes.
• Manage the full grant‑making cycle, including proposal solicitation, record preparation, processing, payments, reporting and compliance.
• Develop and refine grant selection processes based on a deep understanding of the field and strategic priorities.
• Collaborate with the Associate Director of Programs and cross‑functional teams to align programme strategy with OSF’s capabilities.
• Monitor project risks, progress and status updates, providing regular reports to senior leadership.
• Oversee consultant contracts and contribute to portfolio construction and assessment.

Required profile

• University degree (or equivalent); postgraduate education in a relevant field is desirable.
• Multiple years of experience in grant‑making, programme management or related roles within non‑profit or international organisations.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse partners across the MENA region.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with a focus on compliance and impact measurement.
