Programme Management Officer (Regional Policy Specialist)

About the role

The Programme Management Officer (Regional Policy Specialist) will support the United Nations Development Coordination Office (UNDCO) in developing, implementing and evaluating regional policy and SDG financing programmes. The role reports to the Regional Team Leader and works closely with the Regional Director and Chief of Policy and SDG Financing.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, monitor and evaluate regional policy, sustainable development and SDG financing programmes, analysing bottlenecks and risks.
• Coordinate policy development, including analysis of regional trends, financing dynamics and institutional frameworks, and produce policy recommendations and analytical products.
• Provide policy advisory, research and analytical support to Resident Coordinators, UN Country Teams and Member States, facilitating strategic dialogue and workshops.
• Lead regional coordination, partnerships and stakeholder engagement with development partners, IFIs, academia and the private sector.
• Prepare high‑quality knowledge products, reports, briefs and presentations on sustainable development and SDG financing.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in sustainable development, economics, public policy, finance or related field; or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated professionalism, analytical and evaluative skills, and ability to work under pressure while incorporating gender perspectives.
• Strong planning and organizing abilities, with experience in setting goals, managing risks and meeting deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.

Required skills

• Data collection and analysis methods, including design of surveys and data visualization.
• Familiarity with data analytics, business analytics or data science concepts.
