Senior Audit & Assurance - External Audit

About the role

Deloitte is hiring a Senior in Audit & Assurance for its external audit practice in Jordan. The role sits within the audit team and involves delivering high-quality audit services, managing engagement quality and supervising staff.

Key responsibilities

• Build trust with stakeholders by understanding their service level expectations
• Adapt template referral instructions to define the scope of procedures and the areas of audit focus, and liaise with onshore and offshore Centres of Excellence
• Track deliverables from component auditors and link risks, controls, procedures and findings across the audit file
• Articulate audit quality milestones and challenge the timing of the audit plan so that work can be done earlier when possible
• Prepare documentation in advance of review, distinguishing accounting and auditing judgements
• Develop relationships beyond the finance function and apply professional scepticism
• Apply AI in an audit context to improve efficiency and quality, validating AI-generated outputs and using firm-approved tools responsibly
• Supervise staff, inspect client financial records, compile and analyse data, prepare detailed audit reports and resolve accounting research issues

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or a related field; graduate degree desired
• 4+ years of experience in public auditing and accounting, preferably with Big Audit Firms
• International accounting qualification desired: CA, ACCA or CPA, preferably CA
• Fluent English (reading, speaking and writing); bilingual Arabic/English candidates preferred
