Senior Fire & Life Safety Design Consultant

About the role

WSP is looking for a Senior Fire & Life Safety Design Consultant to join its Middle East team in Amman, Jordan. The role will lead fire and life‑safety design across complex, high‑profile projects throughout the region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of fire and life‑safety solutions for all project phases.
• Prepare fire strategies, code‑compliance reviews, life‑safety assessments and technical reports.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams, clients and authorities to ensure integrated solutions.
• Develop innovative, performance‑based fire engineering approaches.
• Ensure designs comply with international and regional fire and life‑safety standards.

Required profile

• 8‑15+ years of experience in fire and life‑safety design consultancy.
• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering building projects in the Middle East or international markets.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of NFPA and International Building Code (IBC) (mandatory).
• Familiarity with Saudi Building Code (SBC) and UAE Fire & Life Safety Code.
• Experience preparing fire strategy reports, code‑compliance studies and life‑safety assessments.
• Technical expertise in fire‑protection engineering and design.
