UAV Systems Integration & Test Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a UAV Systems Integration & Test Engineer to lead the integration of unmanned aerial vehicle platforms from concept or prototype stage to flight‑ready systems. The role is hands‑on and spans mechanical packaging, autopilot configuration, bench and ground testing, flight test support, troubleshooting, and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate UAV subsystems across airframe, avionics, propulsion, power, payload, communications, ground control, and autopilot.
• Define and document mechanical, electrical, signal, communication, and software interfaces.
• Support CAD‑based mechanical packaging, mounting, component placement, and integration decisions.
• Configure and support autopilot systems such as PX4, ArduPilot, MAVLink, Pixhawk or Cube.
• Prepare and execute integration, bench, ground, and flight‑readiness procedures.
• Design for EMC/EMI resilience, including grounding, shielding, cable routing and antenna placement.
• Conduct environmental and EMC testing (vibration, temperature, humidity, RF interference).
• Troubleshoot integration issues including electrical noise, telemetry dropouts, GPS/compass interference, sensor instability, power distribution and mechanical fitment.
• Participate in flight test preparation, readiness reviews and post‑test issue resolution.
• Maintain configuration records, wiring/interface documentation and test results.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with UAV, robotics, aerospace, mechatronics or embedded systems integration.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, avionics and software interfaces in complex systems.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, interface control documents, mechanical layouts and CAD models.
• Experience supporting bench tests, ground tests and flight‑readiness checks.
• Good documentation discipline for configuration control and test procedures.

Required skills

• UAV autopilot platforms (PX4, ArduPilot, MAVLink, Pixhawk, Cube).
• CAD tools such as SolidWorks.
• Mechanical packaging and integration design.
• EMC/EMI design and testing.
• Troubleshooting of electrical noise, telemetry, GPS/compass interference and power distribution.
