About the role
The Chief Accountant supports day‑to‑day execution of general ledger processes, providing accounting functions such as account balancing, ledger reconciliation, reporting and discrepancy resolution for Marriott International properties in Amman.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and implement accounting work, projects and SOP audits across property finance areas.
- Generate accurate reports and presentations, analyze information and choose optimal solutions.
- Balance credit‑card ledgers, verify contracts and perform credit reference checks when needed.
- Maintain accurate profit and loss documentation, monitor applicable taxes and ensure a strong control environment.
- Complete period‑end functions and provide guidance on accounting and budgeting policies.
Required profile
- 4‑year bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
- No prior work experience required; entry‑level candidates are welcome.
Required skills
- Knowledge of general ledger and subsidiary ledger processes.
- Ability to perform ledger reconciliation, account balancing and discrepancy resolution.
