Legal Adviser – Civil & Sharia Law

About the role

The Arab Women Organization of Jordan is seeking three Legal Advisers to join its specialised legal services team. The role focuses on delivering integrated legal and protection services to vulnerable women and girls across the North, Central and South regions of Jordan.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal consultations to beneficiaries on personal status, civil and Sharia matters.
• Follow up legal cases in civil and Sharia courts, ensuring timely progress.
• Draft memoranda, pleadings, petitions and other legal documents with professional accuracy.
• Document case information and prepare periodic reports using approved tools.
• Coordinate with courts, governmental bodies, legal actors and partners for case referrals and follow‑up.
• Design and facilitate legal awareness sessions to strengthen beneficiaries’ knowledge of their rights.
• Maintain confidentiality, data protection and survivor‑centred approaches in all activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support protection and legal empowerment interventions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in law (minimum requirement).
• At least 4 years of professional legal experience.
• Valid license to practice law in Jordan, both civil and Sharia courts.

Required skills
