Senior Legal Advisor (UAE Law)

About the role

First Tech, a technology company building digital platforms for financial services, is looking for a Senior Legal Advisor to support the Group's legal, commercial, corporate and regulatory matters. The role focuses mainly on UAE law and its frameworks, covering insurance brokerage, technology, digital platforms, fintech and integration services. The working model is five days in the office in Amman.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial and operational agreements such as service, technology, vendor, outsourcing and licensing agreements.
• Advise on corporate and commercial matters for the Group and its subsidiaries.
• Support insurance and reinsurance brokerage, including Central Bank of the UAE requirements, agreements with insurers and regulatory obligations.
• Advise on technology and digital services, including software development, digital platforms, IT services, IP, source code ownership, licensing and confidential information.
• Provide guidance on data protection, privacy, cybersecurity and information security.
• Support corporate restructurings, M&A and investment transactions, including due diligence and transaction documentation.
• Advise on corporate governance, including board and shareholder resolutions.
• Work with internal stakeholders to identify legal issues, assess risks and give practical advice.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent legal qualification.
• At least 8 years of relevant legal experience, including substantial practical experience advising on UAE law and the UAE and ADGM frameworks.
• Ability to work independently and give clear, commercially practical advice across varied business areas.

Required skills

• Strong experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Knowledge of UAE insurance and reinsurance brokerage laws and Central Bank of the UAE requirements.
• Experience advising on technology, data protection, privacy, cybersecurity, information security and intellectual property.
• Experience in corporate governance, restructuring, M&A or investment transactions.
