About the role
The Captain of the Fairmont Gold Lounge is responsible for overseeing daily operations and delivering the premium service standards expected by Fairmont Gold guests. This role combines hands‑on service leadership with guest relationship management in a high‑volume, four‑diamond hotel environment.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure smooth daily operation of the Fairmont Gold Lounge.
- Lead service delivery, guaranteeing menu and presentation meet brand standards.
- Motivate, coach, and develop team members, including onboarding new staff.
- Build strong guest relationships to enhance loyalty and the Fairmont Gold experience.
- Assist guests with hotel facilities, provide local attraction information, and coordinate with Front Office for events and group arrivals.
- Manage accurate billing for groups and individual guests.
- Participate in Manager on Duty duties and support health, safety, and sustainability initiatives.
- Work assigned shifts in other Food & Beverage outlets as required.
Required profile
- Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in a hotel restaurant or lounge (four‑diamond).
- At least 2 years progressive experience in a high‑volume hotel restaurant or lounge.
- Thorough knowledge of hotel food & beverage operations.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Proven leadership, decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities.
- Business acumen with understanding of hotel financial reporting.
- Excellent food & beverage product knowledge.
Required skills
- Opera (or related hotel property management system)
