Electrical Engineer – Solar PV Design & Energy Audits

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Energy Engineer (Electrical Stream) to lead electrical assessments, solar PV design, and energy audits for commercial and industrial facilities across Jordan. The role combines office‑based simulation work with on‑site measurements to support clean‑energy and decarbonisation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design and model solar PV systems end‑to‑end, including string sizing, yield simulations (PVsyst), single‑line diagrams, layout drawings, equipment specs and BOQs, ensuring compliance with local grid codes and IEC/NEC standards.
• Conduct on‑site energy audits following ASHRAE Level 2 / ISO 50002 frameworks, using power quality analyzers, thermal imaging cameras, data loggers and lux meters to establish baseline consumption and propose ECMs with financial analysis.
• Inspect and assess electrical infrastructure such as MDBs, SMDBs, circuit breakers, cables, switchgear, earthing, lightning protection and power quality, delivering remediation plans and safety recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy or Power Engineering from an accredited university.
• Active registration with the Jordan Engineers Association (Electrical Engineering Division).
• 2–3+ years of experience in solar PV design, facility electrical assessments and energy auditing.
• Fluent in Arabic and English, with strong technical report writing skills.
• Valid Jordanian driving licence and willingness to travel for site visits.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in PVsyst (loss‑tree modeling, shading analysis, meteorological data).
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and electrical calculation spreadsheets.
• Experience with three‑phase power quality analyzers, thermal imaging cameras, data loggers and lux meters.
• Familiarity with Jordanian electricity regulations, tariff structures, net‑metering and net‑billing mechanisms.
