General Engineering Technician & Electrician

About the role

The General Engineering Technician & Electrician will ensure the reliable operation of all electrical systems and equipment at the Amman Marriott Hotel. This full‑time, onsite position combines hands‑on maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation work within a hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical and electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and fixtures using hand and power tools.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair malfunctioning tools, equipment, and electrical systems.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components; use testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
• Plan layout and installation of wiring and fixtures in accordance with the National Electric Code and local regulations.
• Read and follow blueprints and schematics; respond to repair requests and perform preventative maintenance.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies, and adhere to safety and security policies.

Required profile

• Technical, trade, or vocational school degree.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant electrical or engineering maintenance experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Valid driver’s license.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
• Experience using ohmmeters, voltmeters and oscilloscopes.
• Knowledge of electrical wiring, circuit breakers and transformers.
• Ability to read blueprints/schematics and apply the National Electric Code.
• Preventative maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
