Head Cashier – Lead Front‑End Operations

About the role

The Head Cashier leads the front‑end team to ensure smooth checkout operations, delivers world‑class customer service, and supports overall store performance. This full‑time position works a rotating schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Train, direct, and monitor cashiers, ensuring compliance with store policies.
• Communicate the {N}Power program and local food‑bank donation initiative to customers.
• Complete daily sales reports, cash‑drawer verification, and register close‑out tasks.
• Handle returns, overrides, and customer complaints professionally.
• Maintain well‑stocked and tidy front‑end stations, including registers, binders, and task lists.
• Perform general cashier duties such as ringing up purchases, bagging, and providing carry‑out service.
• Assist with special orders, cart checks, and product location inquiries.
• Participate in store merchandising activities like tagging, facing, rotating, and stocking.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• At least one year of cashier experience and one year of supervisory experience.
• Retail or grocery experience preferred; natural‑foods background a plus.
• Ability to pass required food‑safety certifications.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and sense of urgency.
