Network Engineer Tier 2 – NOC

About the role

We are hiring a Network Engineer Tier 2 to lead complex troubleshooting, drive medium‑scale network projects and act as the primary escalation point for our NOC and Tier 1 teams. The role involves independent resolution of chronic performance issues across global LAN, WAN and security infrastructure while collaborating with Tier 3 engineers on design validation.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot critical and chronic network issues using packet capture, flow analysis and protocol‑level inspection, and lead problem‑management investigations to permanent fixes.
• Own end‑to‑end site turn‑ups, technology migrations and major firmware upgrades, including implementation, testing and rollback planning.
• Provide technical escalation support for Tier 1 and NOC analysts, mentor junior engineers and maintain runbooks and documentation.
• Review low‑level design specifications with Tier 3 engineers for feasibility and operational supportability.
• Manage firewall policies, site‑to‑site and remote‑access VPNs and IPS tuning.
• Execute changes safely under ITIL v4 Change Management, performing impact assessments and authoring change records.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of progressive experience as a Network Engineer or senior technical specialist.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Network Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Current industry certification (CCNA, Fortinet Certified Professional or JNCIA‑Junos).
• Expert‑level knowledge of BGP and EIGRP, and advanced switching (HSRP/VRRP, spanning‑tree, complex QoS).
• Strong firewall configuration and policy‑management experience.
• Proficiency with Wireshark and network performance‑monitoring platforms.
• Python or Bash scripting for network automation.
• Solid understanding of ITIL v4 Change, Incident and Problem Management processes.
