Project Officer – Communication & Cooperation

About the role

The EU Delegation in Amman is seeking a Project Officer (Local Agent Group I) to support its Cooperation Section. Reporting to the Head of Cooperation, you will assist in communication, visibility and public diplomacy activities linked to the EU’s cooperation portfolio in Jordan.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to all stages of the EU project cycle, from programming to monitoring and evaluation.
• Monitor EU‑funded projects, organise field visits, and ensure compliance with contractual and visibility obligations.
• Design and implement communication and visibility strategies, producing publications, videos, digital content and organising events.
• Manage media relations, draft speeches, press material and support senior management with briefing documents.
• Coordinate digital communication campaigns, maintain social media channels and update the Delegation’s website.
• Prepare reports, briefings and analytical notes for Headquarters and ensure proper documentation using EU information systems.

Required profile

• University degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations, Political Science or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in communication, visibility, public diplomacy, project management and social media management.
• At least 3 years of experience in digital communication, storytelling, content development and web/social media metrics.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic.
• Right to reside and work in Jordan, good standing as citizen/resident and medical fitness.
