Senior Business Development and Grants Manager - MENA Region

About the role

Mercy Corps, now transitioning to Prosper Global, is hiring a Senior Business Development and Grants Manager for its Multi-Country Office (MCO) covering Syria, Jordan and Yemen. Based in Amman, the role leads resource mobilization, donor engagement, proposal development and grants management, and has direct line management of a Reporting Officer. It reports to the MCO Portfolio Director.

Key responsibilities

• Lead program development, business development and grants management across the three countries, in line with Mercy Corps' PM@MC standards and the Pathway to Possibility strategy.
• Manage, mentor and coach the Reporting Officer, and strengthen harmonization of program and grants practices.
• Map, track and analyse donor priorities and funding trends, and maintain relationships with institutional donors, foundations and emerging financing partners.
• Prepare and present to donors, and guide the development of unsolicited concepts and engagement materials.
• Oversee go/no-go decisions on funding opportunities and lead the development of competitive concept notes and proposals, ensuring they are feasible, risk-informed and compliant.
• Ensure grants management complies with donor regulations and policies, and that donor reporting is timely and accurate.
• Integrate learning, evidence and adaptive management into program and grants work, and promote after-action reviews.
• Dedicate at least 5% of time to learning activities and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
