Senior Infrastructure and Cloud Specialist

About the role

The Senior Infrastructure and Cloud Specialist designs, implements, supports and optimizes complex IT infrastructure across on‑premises data centres and hybrid cloud environments. The role requires expert‑level administration of virtualization, storage, backup and hyper‑converged platforms, and includes leading deployments and mentoring junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced virtualization solutions (VMware, Hyper‑V, AHV) including cluster setup, resource optimisation and integration with storage and backup.
• Administer and support enterprise‑grade servers, storage arrays, SAN switches and tape libraries to ensure high availability and performance.
• Lead deployment and configuration of hyper‑converged infrastructure solutions such as Nutanix, VxRail, Cisco HyperFlex and Huawei FusionCube.
• Implement and maintain data‑protection strategies using backup solutions (Veeam, NetBackup, Acronis, Veritas) including scheduling, monitoring and recovery testing.
• Manage and troubleshoot operating systems (Windows, Linux, Solaris) and core infrastructure services (Active Directory, DNS, domain controllers).
• Conduct root‑cause analysis for complex incidents and drive resolution of critical production issues.
• Support migration and integration projects for infrastructure modernisation and hybrid cloud enablement.
• Document system designs, implementation procedures and troubleshooting guides.
• Collaborate with project teams and vendors to plan, execute and deliver solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to skills development within the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in systems engineering, designing, implementing and supporting enterprise infrastructure.
• Proven ability to work in fast‑paced enterprise environments and lead technical projects.
