Airfield Management Shift Lead

About the role

The Airfield Management Shift Lead is responsible for maintaining situational awareness of all airfield activities and ensuring a safe, efficient environment for aircraft operations during the assigned shift. This position oversees the AMOPS section, conducts inspections, and coordinates with multiple support functions to sustain continuous airfield readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain real‑time awareness of airfield operations and enforce safety standards.
• Conduct airfield inspections and verify compliance with design and planning criteria.
• Plan, organize and direct airfield construction, repairs, ice/snow removal, and wildlife control activities.
• Procure and manage flight information publications, aeronautical charts, NOTAMs, and weather data.
• Process domestic and international flight plans and coordinate with base agencies for crew billeting, refueling, transportation, and transient aircraft maintenance.
• Supervise coordination between air‑traffic control and maintenance personnel, dispatching, and flight‑following procedures.
• Manage hazardous cargo, live‑fire devices, and respond to aircraft emergencies.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved DoD/Airfield Managers course or equivalent.
• Minimum four years of aviation‑related experience with a 14 CFR Part 121 or Part 135 operator.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US CENTCOM medical exam and a Secret security clearance (US citizenship required).
