Backend Team Lead

About the role

We are looking for a seasoned Backend Team Lead to drive the transformation of our legacy monolithic platform into a modern micro‑services architecture. You will manage a mixed onsite and remote engineering team, ensuring high‑quality, scalable, and maintainable software delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the migration of the existing monolithic application to a micro‑services based architecture.
• Provide hands‑on technical guidance in Node.js and Java, making informed architectural decisions.
• Champion best practices in code reviews, testing, and design to deliver robust solutions.
• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to define requirements and ensure successful delivery.
• Own application monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Design efficient data storage using Redis, MySQL, and MongoDB.
• Architect and deploy services on AWS, focusing on EKS, S3, and related services.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning, mentorship, and innovation within the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience with Node.js and Java.
• Proven track record leading backend engineering teams.
• Hands‑on experience with micro‑services architecture and migration projects.
• Strong knowledge of performance monitoring and optimization.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
