Category Manager – Grocery

About the role

The Category Manager – Grocery will coordinate with buyers and support purchasing activities for MAF Retail. This role ensures the right products reach store shelves, catalogues and online platforms while aligning with the company’s strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Implement effective strategies for sourcing goods and maintaining desired stock levels.
• Research and review new products to meet company goals.
• Prepare and review purchase details of orders and deliveries.
• Research and suggest new suppliers for long‑term cost savings or quality improvement.
• Analyze data to reduce shortages and overstocking and develop control strategies.
• Source high‑quality products at competitive prices aligned with organisational objectives.
• Manage issuance of tenders and RFQs in coordination with relevant business users.
• Implement negotiation strategies to secure profitable deals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Business Administration.
• 5–7 years of experience in a similar category management or procurement role.
• Strong business communication and presentation abilities.
• Effective team player with good time‑management skills.
• Aptitude for decision‑making and working with numbers.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Suite.
