Specialist Backend Engineer

About the role

Almosafer is seeking a Specialist Backend Engineer to design and deliver scalable, cloud‑native solutions for the Middle East’s largest travel e‑commerce platform. You will work with cross‑functional teams to build new experiences, improve existing products, and drive the evolution of distributed systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design technical and integration architectures, including runtime and operations layers.
• Define scalable solutions using Service‑Oriented Architecture (SOA) patterns, microservices, and event‑driven designs.
• Lead the implementation of large, complex projects from requirements gathering to go‑live.
• Provide technology consulting, architectural reviews, and roadmap planning for integration technologies.
• Introduce Agile processes and manage risks, issues, and dependencies across solutions.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 4+ years of intensive Java backend development and solution architecture experience.
• Hands‑on experience with Java 8/11, Spring Boot, and cloud platforms (AWS).
• Proven ability to deliver platform solutions, migrate legacy systems, and guide senior stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of Agile software development, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
