Migration Governance Researcher

About the role

The Sustainable Research and Development Center is looking for a Migration Governance Researcher to support an international consultancy assignment. The role focuses on desk‑research, documentation review, evidence mapping and analysis related to Africa‑Europe migration cooperation and the development of a strategic policy publication. The position is fully remote and works closely with the Lead Migration Governance Expert.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive desk‑research on two decades of regional migration cooperation.
• Review and synthesize institutional, governmental, policy, programme and academic documents.
• Map evidence and identify trends, milestones, thematic priorities and emerging issues.
• Prepare analytical summaries and support the Lead Author in drafting the policy publication.
• Maintain organized evidence repositories and ensure data quality.

Required profile

• Background in migration governance, policy research or related social sciences.
• Experience with Africa‑Europe migration topics and international development projects.
• Strong analytical, writing and synthesis abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
