Supply Chain Officer (Consultant)

About the role

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) is seeking a Supply Chain Officer consultant to conduct a comprehensive diagnostic of its supply chain processes, focusing on medical supplies and related inventory categories. The assignment will last six months and will be based at the HQ in Amman.

Key responsibilities

• Review and map existing supply chain processes, forecasting methods, and replenishment practices, identifying bottlenecks and gaps.
• Develop standardized demand planning and forecasting frameworks, including calendars, tools, governance structures, and KPIs.
• Design an integrated supply planning and inventory optimization framework with safety stock, min/max levels, and emergency stock mechanisms.
• Propose a future‑state operating model, organizational structure, and a Planning and Supply Chain Control Tower concept.
• Update supply chain manuals, SOPs, and guidelines to align with UNRWA policies and best practices.
• Assess human‑resource capacity and recommend adjustments in consultation with HR services.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s) in supply chain management, logistics, business administration or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in supply chain, logistics, pharmaceutical logistics, health supply chains, demand forecasting or supply planning.
• Very good written and spoken English and Arabic.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP.
• Knowledge of supply and demand planning tools and techniques.
• Strong analytical and process‑improvement capabilities.
