Engineer for Accessibility and Restoration

About the role

The Engineer for Accessibility and Restoration will support the Sustainable Jerash project by preparing detailed cost estimates, guiding procurement, and supervising on‑site works that improve accessibility and restore key heritage infrastructure. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the role works closely with a consulting architect and a multidisciplinary team of local stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BoQ) for urban redevelopment of the Eastern Roman Baths area, including cleaning, landscaping, lighting, and waste management.
• Develop BoQs for accessibility interventions within the archaeological site, such as golf‑cart pathways, ticket office upgrades, toilet facilities, and parking improvements.
• Collaborate with the Municipality of Jerash, the Department of Antiquities, the Ministry of Tourism, and the High Council for Disability to ensure compliance with heritage and accessibility standards.
• Assist the procurement team in tender preparation and supplier selection based on the BoQs.
• Supervise and guide the on‑site workforce to ensure quality execution of the approved plans.

Required profile

• Engineering degree with experience in construction, heritage restoration, or accessibility projects.
• Proven ability to work in a multicultural environment and coordinate with public authorities and NGOs.
• Strong organizational skills and capacity to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
